A series of meetings to gather suggestions from the public and various RWAs (resident welfare associations) on the proposed formation of the Greater Bengaluru Authority under the Greater Bengaluru Governance Bill 2024, are being held in the city between February 10 and 12.
The Bill proposes to split the BBMP into multiple corporations to decentralise the administration. The Greater Bengaluru Authority (GBA) will coordinate among the proposed multiple corporations.
According to the information released by the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike five meeting with the public at five locations in city that will cover the eight zones of the BBMP.
These public consultations are being held as per the directions of the 14-member joint legislature committee led by Congress MLA Rizwan Arshad on the Greater Bengaluru Governance Bill 2024. The committee is set to examine the Bill and will submit its report to the legislature after the public consultations.
Bengaluru citizens, organisations and resident welfare associations have been requested to attend these public interactions in large numbers and provide their suggestions on the issues governance.
